If Website is missing, skip to the troubleshooting section. Do not paste a long URL into Bio and expect it to be tappable — description text is not the Website field.

Can’t add a link in your TikTok bio

That Reddit thread is still #1 because this keeps happening. Typical causes:

Personal account, not enough followers. TikTok has long gated the Website field (often around 1,000 followers for personal accounts). Thresholds and countries change — believe the app, not a blog from last year.
Still a personal account. Switch: profile → menu → Settings and privacy → Account → Switch to Business Account, then try Edit profile again. Some regions also ask for business registration if you are under the follower bar.
You are on desktop. Use the phone app.
App is stale. Update TikTok and retry.
Region. Some markets get the field later. If Support says it should be there and it is not, it is a TikTok account issue, not your landing page.

Workaround if Website will not appear: put a short, typeable URL in the Bio text (not clickable). Use something people can remember, like pingmybio.com/you. Ugly. Better than nothing until the field unlocks.
